Christine Issel has been involved with reflexology since 1970. Over her years of work in the field she has founded associations in the USA and internationally, contributed to their newsletters and organized conferences. She has written four books on reflexology; its history and possible future directions. As a legislative consultant she managed to obtain 32 exemptions from state massage laws and contributed to writing the five state reflexology laws. With her extensive background in reflexology, she consults and lectures on all aspects of reflexology, a discipline she is passionate about.

With a background in teaching and experience in both mainstream and special education, as well as being a qualified reflexologist since 2008, Lorraine Senior has dedicated her career to supporting neurodivergent children, adults, and people with diverse needs by blending her education and reflexology experience. For over 12 years, she provided weekly reflexology sessions in a special school, experiences she shares in her book Reflexology for Schools: Nurturing Learning and Embracing Diverse Needs.

Lorraine now focuses on supporting reflexologists, considering how to expand their businesses into educational and care settings. Alongside her private mobile practice, she leads trainings and workshops to help families and professionals use the Functional Reflex Therapy Rainbow Relaxation Programme. Lorraine also enjoys raising awareness of reflexology’s benefits through talks and continue to develop the annual Functional Reflex Therapy Global Project, supporting special and inclusive schools in Zambia.
